There have been many UK Police dramas over
the years. Most were self contained drams
with each episode standing alone. The Bill
is a police drama with a soap opera story layout.

The Bill is a modern police drama with characters
and plots that display the good and bad side of
police work. The strength of the show is you
never quite know if the cops will catch the villain
as on many occasions they have failed to do so.

The private life's of the officers is also pursued
showing their weaknesses and strengths. Many
of the cast are young which creates room for
mistakes of youth and inexperience also
adding to the drama.

The Bill almost came to an end some years ago
but the producers have revamped the show
to move it in to a more fast moving series
with more tragedy amongst Triumph. It
seems the show, for the moment, is still
alive and well and entertaining the Brits.
